The Light is ON for You

The Light is ON for You

“God knows our struggles. He knows that we often fail. Yet His love never fails. No matter how many times we stumble, we find Him ready to receive us again. In the sacrament of penance, we encounter a God who does not simply wait for us but rushes out to meet us. This is the beauty of the sacrament.” – Bishop Walkowiak

‘The Light is On For You’ is an initiative of the Archdiocese of Washington and the Diocese of Arlington where Catholic churches across the United States are open for quiet prayer and Confession throughout Lent.

The Diocese of Grand Rapids, including St. Joseph Parish, will be participating in The Light Is On For You on March 21, 5-8pm.

By participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, whether your first time in days, weeks, months or years, we are experiencing God’s individual and unwavering love for us, and one of the true graces made available to us by our Catholic faith. God loves us just the way we are, but he loves us too much to leave us that way.  When we return to the Church for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Jesus rejoices like the father in the Parable of the Prodigal Son. It is never “too late” to return to Jesus and ask for forgiveness. Imagine how joyful you will feel upon confessing your sins, big or small!
