Keynote Speaker: Fr. Mike Alber

Fr. Mike Alber is the pastor at St. Patrick Parish in Portland, MI.  He was ordained by Bishop Walkowiak in 2002.  Prior to his acceptance to the priesthood, Fr. Mike was a journeyman electrician with 15 years’ experience.  Fr. Mike grew up on the west side of Grand Rapids and attended St. James Elementary School and West Catholic High School.  He is the youngest of seven children, with 20 years separating him from his oldest sibling.  Fr. Mike is quoted saying, “Being a priest is more than I ever thought it would be.  To think that He would choose someone as sinful as I am.  The best part is the Eucharist, knowing that I am taking bread and wine and making them into the body and blood of Jesus Christ.”
